The 4SiGHT team is growing rapidly! We’re always looking for exceptional talent to join our collaborative, hardworking team. We excel at delivering on client promises with every engagement and rely on our team’s expertise in consulting, engineering, and IT to deliver award-winning supply chain transformations.
Colton Lynch joined the 4SiGHT team last September. Here’s what he shared about his experience at 4SiGHT so far:
What does your current role with 4SiGHT entail?
I’m an Associate working on a large-scale WMS project for an American multi-brand, multi-channel, specialty retailer. In this role, I’m creating test scripts, configuring custom extensions, creating configuration guides, and testing the extensions before they are delivered to the client.
How long have you been a part of the 4SiGHT team, and what made you interested in joining?
I joined 4SiGHT in September of 2021. What piqued my interest in 4SiGHT was getting to learn and work on the new Manhattan Associates Active® WM solution. I wanted to broaden my knowledge and be up to speed with the latest technology. After my interview, I knew I wanted to be a part of such a great company with plenty of opportunities to advance my career.
What was your very first job?
My first job out of college was with a multinational corporation in the food industry. I didn’t know anything about warehousing at the time, but we were formally trained on the 2018 Blue Yonder WMS product. This was a large project where we were implementing the WMS across all warehouses so they would all be on one integrated system.
What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you’re working on right now?
The retail project I’m working on right now has been my first Manhattan Active WM project. I’m currently working on custom processes for the client. While working on these extensions you must be creative and envision how the end user is going to perform the task. Sometimes it’s challenging to determine how it’s going to work, but once it’s completed and delivered, it’s very fulfilling.
How do you describe what you do for a living to family and friends?
I tell them I work in IT, setting up the systems that run warehouses. A lot of people don’t have any idea of everything it takes to get a warehouse up and running, so it’s cool to be able to explain to them what all goes into it.
What industry certifications have you completed to help support you in your role as a supply chain expert?
I am certified in both Blue Yonder WMS and Manhattan Associates Active WM. It’s been an invaluable benefit to have comprehensive expertise in both solutions to help our clients leverage these innovative, ever-changing technologies.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I like doing anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and just enjoying nature. My dogs Cooper and Chip also take up a lot of my free time and get to enjoy a lot of the things I do! The Arkansas Razorbacks sports program takes up a lot of my time as well, and I go to many football, basketball, and baseball games. I also really enjoy listening to music and attending shows and festivals.
If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?
It would be where I am right now in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas is consistently ranked in the top places to live in the U.S., and the area is beautiful with plenty to do.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to never stop learning. In this industry, technology is constantly changing. If you stop learning, you’ll never be able to keep up with the fast change of pace or implement effective systems that meet customer requirements.
